VIDEO | Common Rorqual | NOS News

This is a 19 m long common rorqual which, probably after collision with a container ship, washed up dead on the beach of Texel, the Netherlands.

It’s midsummer, temperatures rise and its remains start to smell… NOS documented the scientists and researchers who are committed to clean the beach, and take the skeleton home as a trophee for research. First, they need to get rid of 40 000 kilograms of whale meat.

Mickel van Leeuwen, taxidermist and licensed preparator, is here to help save the remains.
